So you have decided to start working from home. It is a good decision but there are a lot of things that you have to consider before starting your home based business.
Work at home jobs are not just limited to the internet based jobs and there are several businesses that can be done from home and without using internet. This is true but nowadays, internet has created many good opportunities to work from home and in this website I try to focus on these kinds of businesses more than the others.
So if you have decided to work from home, you should consider working through the internet. Most people think that they have to be a computer and internet expert to be able to work and make money through the internet but this is not true. You don’t have to be expert.

- … search in search engines like Google, find the websites, browse their pages and learn about what you have been searching for
- … sign up for online programs and subscribe for newsletters
- … order products and services through the internet
… you are already qualified to start an internet based work at home business.
It seems so simple. It really is but it has a hard stage. In fact the hardest stage is making the decision. It is the hardest stage in anything that you want to do and any new thing that you want to start or try. Starting a new business also needs making a serious decision.
Working from home may seem so easy. You have already met computer programmers, web designers and internet marketers who do nothing but sitting at the keyboards and working with the computer. This is what you have to do if you want to start an online home business. Ok but if it is easy, why so many people who start it, give up after a few weeks or months?
I am frequently asked “how can I start a profitable home business?”. Those who ask this question, expect to receive their answer in a few sentences because they think it is easy. I don’t give them any good answer because I am sure that they are not serious and they just want to speculate.
It is really different my friends. It is easy because working is easy and pleasant for hard-workers and those who like to work.
So if you are a hard-worker person, if you love to work and if you don’t give up so easy you are ready to start your home business which is a new business for you. You have to decide seriously and then start working. This is the key-secret. It is possible that you don’t make any money for several months. It is even possible that you lose a lot of money before you make any profit but you should not give up. This is what I did.
I started my online business as a second job. The first few months was spent for learning. So I just spent time to read and learn. Then I decided to act and start working. I already knew that it works because I had read about those who had made it work. I had learnt about Terry Dean, Shawn Casey and Corey Rudl. I knew that they have been making millions. So I was sure that it works and so spent lots of time to learn. Even I signed up for HTML, JavaScript, ASP and then PHP and MySQL classes. I knew that they are not necessary but I want to learn to do everything on my own.

So making a serious decision is the first and hardest step. If you have done it, you have to set your goals.
What do you want your home business to do for you? Do you want it to make you a millionaire or you just want to have a passive income through it as a second job?
For me it didn’t make any difference. I wanted to promote it as much as I could. When I made my first commission that was as low as $5, I became so happy and motivated to work harder and make as much as $800 to $1000 per day after one year.
In my opinion, you should not make yourself limited to any income level. For example you should not say “I want to keep on working until I succeed to make $5000 per month.” This is not good. You should say “I keep on working as much as I can. I try to do my best and won’t give up. It doesn’t matter how long it will take and when I will succeed. I should make this work. I can do it …”.
Bottom line:
Do you want to start your online work at home business and make money from home? Do you really like it? If yes, just make a serious decision and promise yourself that you will never give up. You will never stop working until your dreams come true. You will never give up until you achieve your goals. Then start working. Maybe you don’t know “from where” but it doesn’t matter. You will learn and find out. There is nothing hidden in this business. All the information can be found over the internet. You just need to find and use them.

True that people want to earn money online but don’t want to put in the efforts to make it happen or they quit too soon and it become a Internet SCAM to them.
Internet marketing is just like an offline business, it won’t success if you don’t put in the efforts to it and hope the success will drop from the heaven.

If you have not joined a mastermind team; no I mean a real mastermind team where everyone wants to see each other succeed and really embraces the concept that a group that is focused will always out perform individuals. If you are new to internet marketing, search out a mentor and join the ride. I used to work 90 hours + per week for a fortune 50 company and made them a ton of money. I missed out on 15 years of my daughter growing up due to company commitments, but now internet marketing has given me my own business and my own life. I fired my alarm clock months ago and will never look back.
If you want to succeed, pick your dream…the bigger the better, find a mentor that is willing to assist you in growing your ideas, your competence and your business then GO FOR IT. Take massive action and do not listen to the doom sayers.

I have to agree with you - goal setting is so important. You will never get anywhere if you do not know where you are going! And once you have made the commitment then stick to it no matter who tries to dissuade you when you hit a rough patch.

One thing that tends to detour most people who want to work online is all the “too good to be true” offers. I often tell my clients that the “bad” products are often better marketed than the good ones, so it’s hard to decipher the scams from the legitimate people who want to help.

Great post, getting an online business off the ground takes time and persistance. So many skills have to be learned but realising you cannot do everthing and that others can do them better ie outsource, is a key essential ingredient.

Yes, starting an online business (or offline) is a serious decision to make and should be approached with education and dedication. It is very possible to make a decent income online, However, it does take work. You need to treat it like a business and not a hobby. Find something that excites you and work with a TEAM that offers training, support and has achieved what you desire. It is my experience that “who you work with is more important than what you work with.”
