The Power of Positive Thinking - A Must Read Book for Those Who Want to Become Happy and Successful
The Power of Positive Thinking, by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, was first published on 1952. It has been known as the best seller book for several years. Now the audio version of the book is available which is performed by Dr. Peale himself and so the words have even more “positive energy” when heard from Dr. Peale directly.
I received the CD three days ago. As one of the most important parts of any business is positive thinking and battling with disappointment and work at home businesses are not any exception and starting a work at home business needs a lot of positive mental energy, I decided to talk about “The Power of Positive Thinking” on my weblog and recommend it to those who want to start a work at home business or promote their current business and also to those who want to have happiness and success in their lives.
“The Power of Positive Thinking” has helped millions of people to be happy and successful. This is the biggest achievement that everybody can have in his/her life. Some people are successful but are not happy because they don’t know what they want from their life. They make money but it doesn’t make them happy whereas before, they thought that if they could have enough money, they would the happiest people in the world.
On the other hand, there are many people who are not happy because they are not successful. Most of these people will feel happy if they achieve their goals. So they just need to learn to become successful to be happy.
The CD is started with an introduction by Dr. Peale that explains why he has written the book and why he hopes it can make a difference in your life. Then the program will be continued in three chapters with Dr. Peale reading from the most important selected chapters. For those who don’t have time to read the book, it is highly recommended to buy the CD and listen to it while driving, cooking or cleaning the house
At the end of each chapter you will find a formula or a list of exercises that help you develop your own power of positive thinking by practicing the ideas contained in the book.
In the introduction, Dr. Peale says that when he started writing the book, he didn’t expect that several million copies of the book will be sold and he is so thankful to God not because such a huge number of the book is sold but because he has been successful to help millions of people find their way to become happy and successful. The methods he teaches in his book are created by the trial and error in his own life and that’s why they are practical and useful for everybody.
He says that he has been trying to teach people to learn how to have joy and happiness in their lives, not to become famous and wealthy because fame and wealth do not necessarily bring joy and happiness to people’s lives.

Chapter one - Believe in Yourself:
Believing in yourself is the most important thing for you if you want to have happiness and success in your life. Have faith in your abilities. If you like to have joy and happiness in your life, you must have confidence in your own powers. In this chapter you learn to beleive in yourself and your abilities.
Chapter two - The power of prayer:
In chapter two you learn about the power of prayer and specific techniques the help you pray effectively for what you need. If your mind is full of negative things that don’t let you think positively and be happy and have confident, it is because your mind has been occupied with these things for several years. If you want to remove these negative thoughts, you must give your mind a different and more positive thought pattern and this can be accomplished by regular repetition of confident ideas.You can make yourself ill with your thoughts and you can make yourself well by the use of a different and healing type of thought. Human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind. Fill your mind with fresh, new and creative thoughts like faith, love and goodness. One of the most powerful cures for self-doubt is the thought that our mighty God is actually with you and helping you.
Then Dr. Peale teaches how to establish such a belief in your heart.
I beleive that chapter two is the most important and interesting chapter of this book.
Chapter three - Achieving your goals:
If you expect the worst, you will get the worst and if you expect the best, you will get the best. You should train your mind to think positively to have faith in either God or yourself. Change your mental habits to beleive instead of disbelieve. Beleive and succeed. This is the most powerful law in the world.
In chapter three, Dr. Peale teaches what to do when you are faced with an obstacle. This chapter is so helpful for fighting problems and obstacles.
