Work-at-Home Mom Encourages People to Do Business in Their Bathrobes

Kristie Tamsevicius, author of “I Love My Life: A Mom’s Guide to Working from Home,” is bringing new meaning to the phrase “business casual.” Tamsevicius, founder of the website www.webmomz.com, an online organization for work-at-home parents, is encouraging people to work at home not only to work in their bathrobes but also to have the media photograph them on “Doing Business in Your Bathrobe Day” Feb. 9. She hopes the day will draw attention to people who work from their homes.
“I don’t feel that entrepeneurs get enough credit,” Tamsevicius said via e-mail. “Corporate workers seem to get all the high fives from their bosses, peers and the media. Somehow I feel like work at home business owners don‘t get their fair share of recognition.”
Tamsevicius said that leaving her previous job and working from home has enabled her to have a more flexible schedule and spend more time with her children. Tamsevicius’s husband now works from home as well.
“I firmly believe that my kids have learned valuable leadership skills from watching us run our businesses,” Tamsevicius said. “They honestly believe that they can do anything the set their minds to. My six-year-old, who just learned his letters, is writing what he calls the sixth Harry Potter book. And my eight-year-old daughter has ‘published’ several magazines and handed them out to her friends.”
There are a lot of options for people who would like to work from home, according to Tamsevicius. Starting a business is just one option; people who work from home also have home franchises, telecommute and work with direct sales organizations.
“It is my passion to help other moms to enjoy the same kind of peace and freedom that I do every day,” Tamsevicius said.
Hi Vahid. I believe so much in your prowess in internet marketing. I wish to work online from Nigeria. And I’m interested in surveys and similar data entry activities online. Can you connect me to a legitimate site that can pay and be paid with wire tranfer? I would really appreciate it. And if any Nigerian is already in these line of online business let them contact me through my mail.
Thanks and keep up the good work
Hi Vahid. It’s really difficult working from nigeria online because the available payment systems like paypal, checks etc are not yet available. I only have a domiciliary acct which i only use for my forex transactions. Pls can you suggest companies that can pay me through domicliary or connect me with nigerians who are successfully doing surveys online and getting paid for it.
Thanks and God bless
Whilst there are lots of jobs you can do online you have to find ones that are suitable and that are not scams.
That is so funny because I dressed up to start working at home, lol…
I think that being at home doesn’t mean being bad dressed or not taking care of myself.
But yes, I feel more comfortable here than in an office.

I have a similar problem being in South America … but be confident that t he right solution will come to you!!!!!!!
Be possitive!!!
I’ve been working at home for about 8 years. First as a freelance writer, then as a webmaster for my own site. From there I moved on to network marketing of several online businesses I now have. This is a terrific way to make a living! I love having my own schedule and the social networking part it lots of fun too. I’ve made lots of great friends online who share my interests in network marketing and we exchange tips and help each other with our endeavors.
I’d highly recommend working at home to anyone but you have to be ready to WORK. It isn’t easy but it can be done.
Vahid yes, you have an inspirational site to me. I feel more confident and i can research more material in Google now. I don’t have to waste my time dressing up in a tie and commuting through traffic any more!
